DAY 1 BOOKS
Print on demand (POD) is a method of producing books or other media (such as CDs and DVDs) one at a time. With print on demand, a printer produces hard copies of a book from a digital file. That way, the book is only printed when someone buys it. With Day 1, an author gives us a digital file of the book and we create a print-ready version of the file. When a customer buys that book from you our printer prints that copy (or copies) and ships it within days. POD is different from mass market publishing. Traditional publishers generally print thousands of copies of a given book all at once. This creates a lower cost per copy, but it requires a large publishing company that can foot the bill for all that printing and storage up front. Publishers take most of the money from book sales, and the author gets only a little bit. Day 1 gives you financial control by making it possible and profitable to print a single copy.

How Do ISBNs Work?
An ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is a controlled, 10- or 13-digit identification number allowing publishers, libraries, and book dealers to locate books. Having an ISBN means that your book will appear in Bowker's Books in Print. Booksellers go to Books in Print to help them locate the publisher of a book so they can order it.
Day 1 Productions offers Basic Distribution Service for only $99, this includes:
A unique ISBN for
your book.
A scannable Bookland-EAN bar code automatically printed on the back cover.
Your book listed in Books In Print, the searchable database that librarians,
booksellers, publishers, students, faculty, researchers, library patrons and
bookstore customers use to find the exact titles.
The ability to take your books into the local bookstore for them to sell.
*You can always purchase an ISBN on your own
